ASIA

Asia: Contrasts Are Only the Beginning

Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent, covering about 30% of Earth’s total land area. Asia is notable for not only its overall size and population but its dense as well as barely populated regions within the continent of 4.4 [?] billion people. Asia has exhibited economic as well as population growth during the 20th century, but overall population growth has since fallen to world average levels. Given its size and diversity, the concept of Asia may actually have more to do with human than physical geography. Asia varies greatly across its regions with regard to ethnic groups, cultures, environments, economics, historical ties and government systems.

Cambodia: John, Ashley and Luke Phifer

John, Ashley and Luke are serving in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

John currently works for Agape International Missions and helps in their efforts to end human trafficking in Cambodia and the surrounding countries.  AIM’s mission is to rescue, restore and reintegrate survivors of sex trafficking through Christ’s love and Gospel. To prevent sexual slavery by planting and equipping the Church to do the same in vulnerable and exploited communities worldwide.

Ashley is teaching 4th grade, all subjects, at Logos International School in Phnom Penh. Most of the students are fluent in English and come from a variety of countries. Most of the families who attend Logos do not claim to be Christians. Part of her ministry will be sharing Christ with the students and their families through daily Bible study, prayers, worship and conversations.

Luke is attending Logos International School.
