On behalf of the International Outreach Ministries staff, and the dozens of IOM Associate Missionaries you individually support, I extend warm greetings and a sincere thank you. We pray this letter finds you and your family well and wonderfully experiencing God’s grace and provision.
It has been a busy, though very fulfilling and I believe spiritually productive, few months since my last Update. My travels included several significant trips. In August, I spent a great week with the IOM Board of Directors at our annual retreat/board meeting. This time is significant not only for the planning and prayer that it involves, it also provides an opportunity for us to fellowship with and pray for one another, and each IOM Associate.
The week after the board meeting, I was joined by fellow board member Bill Murphy for an always enjoyable week of teaching rural pastors in southern Mexico. In October and November, IOM Director of Missionary Support Ron Gray and I spent time with the 20+ IOM Associate Missionaries serving in Cambodia, Germany, Spain, and Italy. I’m pleased to be able to report to you that, by God’s grace and anointing, most of these remarkable people are doing very well.
When talking with people about my responsibilities with IOM, I’m often asked the question, “What exactly do you do when you visit missionaries on the field?” The short answer to that question is that we listen, pray with, and try to encourage these faith heroes who sacrifice much to obey the call of God on their lives. Sometimes, just visiting—laughing and crying with—somebody from “back home” can make a real difference. Next year’s calendar already includes visits to China, Kenya, Indonesia, and possibly Ukraine. As always, our primary goal will be to encourage and support IOM missionaries who are “grinding it out” on the field.
As you are able, I ask for your prayers on two specific fronts: first, that there would be the financial resources necessary to travel, and second, that we would have the spiritual resources needed to bring spiritual life and encouragement to those we serve. Ultimately, we are trusting in God’s faithfulness and love for his people, which is always greater than our own.
If you have any questions about International Outreach Ministries that you think I can help answer please feel free to give me a call at 601-395-5290. (If I don’t answer leave me a message and I’ll return the call as soon as I can.) Once again, thank you for continuing to pray for and financially support your IOM missionary. Together, we are making an eternal difference.
His servant and yours,
