The Schenkels have served as pastors, cross-cultural missionaries in the Muslim world, and organizational leaders in evangelical organizations—including Jesus Film Project, which Erick served as Executive Director. In 2018, God called them into the Catholic Church where they work toward the goal of making sure that every Catholic has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and knows how to share their faith with others. They serve with Global2033, a Catholic network focused on reaching every person with the Good News by the 2000th anniversary of the birth of the church, and with Fundación Ramón Pané, which disciples young people through Lectio Divina meditation on the Bible. They also volunteer with Jesus Film Project, which creates, translates and distributes films for use in evangelism around the world.
