Short-Term Missions: Steve Rannells

Steve Rannells is a short-term mission’s teacher that comes from a business and management background. Steve graduated from Evangel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. He met and married Sherri in college and has three daughter and nine grandchildren all serving the Lord. He spent over 50 years in the business world. In 1998, Steve received a Masters of Theology degree from America Center for Theological Studies.  He has served the Lord continually as an elder and a teacher in various churches in the cities where he lived as a Christian businessman in corporate positions.  After retiring Steve taught Business and Healthcare management  for ten years in a professional College.  He currently serves as an Bible teacher at a Christian High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado while also being one of the teachers on New Life Church’s Global Outreach and small group team.

For over twenty years Steve has taught Bible-based courses internationally in Kenya, Uganda, and now in Mexico, as well as The Covenant and The Kingdom curricula. He has traveled with Ron Gray to teach Biblically based Business Courses in Poland and France and served on the board of Opportunity, Inc for five years.

In Mexico, Steve, along with other IOM teachers, was responsible for helping to form a new school for pastors, teachers and leaders in Chenalho, Chiapas, in 2013. The school named Instituto Bíblico Internacional (IBI) is patterned after the Kenya Ministry Training Institute (KMTI). It serves both Mexican and Mayan Indian leaders as a part of a group of over 200 churches named Sobra la Roche, based in Tuxtla, Chiapas, Five graduating class have finished the course with over 100 graduates with a current class of 26 students in the class of 2024.

In 2021, Steve again assisted starting a second school in Tuxtepec, Oaxaca,  in the new church of a pastor from the first graduating class in Chenalho.  The Tuxtepec IBI recently graduated  28 students in the  class of 2023. Currently 36 students are set to start the Class of 2025 in May, 2023.
